Looking for more savings on the worlds most popular shopping website? Here are ten tips to help you save on Amazon.
I may or may not have a slight love affair with Amazon. Not having to drive a hour into town? Yes, please! Don’t have to get dressed to shop? Even better! Needless to say I love how I can find just about anything on Amazon and I am always looking for ways to save when it comes to the Amazon website.
And with over 300 million customers I am guessing I am not the only one looking for ways to save. So before you click on the check out button try using these tips to save on Amazon.
1. Earn free Amazon Gift Cards
Many sites and apps like Ibotta and Swagbucks offer gift cards in exchange for using their website or through doing surveys. Just complete a few minutes of survey’s or scan your receipt and let the points start adding up for that Amazon Gift Card that you can use at checkout. You can read my post about signing up for survey companies to get started with getting your Amazon Gift Cards.
2. Use Amazon Coupon Page
Did you know that Amazon has a coupon page? Yup, coupons. Amazon offers 1,000’s of coupons every month. You can visit the Amazon Coupon Page here to start clipping those coupons.
3. Buy Used
I have bought a lot of used items from books to electronics that are still in excellent condition for a much lower price. Books can go as low as a penny which is so much cheaper than paying 19.95!
4. Shop Amazon Wearhouse
Refurbished, open boxes, slightly dented boxes are all sold for a huge discount on Amazon Wearhouse. I have used Amazon Wearhouse and have never had a problem with any of the items that I have purchased.
5. Get a discount for writting a review
A review can make or break a seller. Websites like AMZRC, VIPON and Product Elf offer products at a huge discount in return for a review. Make sure you understand what the seller is wanting before you purchase so you understand what is expected of you.
6. Don’t be in a rush to click on that check out button
Amazon wants you to buy stuff. (obviously) So when you have items just sitting in your cart it it their goal to get you to check out. And they do this through emails. Amazon will send you a reminder email about items in your cart and a lot times they will discount those items. It is not going to be a large discount. And it does not happen every single time I try this. But most of the time just waiting before checking out this has helped me save a few dollars.
7. Sign up for emails
Amazon sends out tons of emails everyday alerting you of items that have been discounted that you may have looked at before or new products that are available. They also send out a daily deal email that lets you know about all of the new deals that are good for that day. You can pick and choose which emails you want to receive and they send you the deals.
8. Get free movies, music and books
Sign up for Amazon Prime and get access to all sorts of free movies, TV shows, books, music, and cloud storage. Since we don’t have cable we love having Prime to access those TV shows.
9. Share Prime
Did you know that you can add someone to your Prime account? There are a few restrictions on this but they are pretty minor. So grab a friend and split the cost of the $99 Prime membership. (And if you are a student with an .edu email you can get 6 months of Prime for free!)
10. Subscribe and save on Amazon
A lot of household goods, diapers, and food items are offered for a discount if you subscribe to have the items delivered on a regular basis. Just select the “subscribe” area before you add it to your cart to join in.
